Brooke creates aerial landscape paintings in watercolour, inspired by the naturally occurring patterns of water. Brooke has lived in the Sutherland Shire but now resides in the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, where she grew up exploring the local rockpools. Brooke’s watercolours make use of masking techniques to guide the pigment in certain areas, while allowing organic movement of the medium in other parts of the image. She is also interested in the scale of the human form in relation to the natural environment, and usually includes tiny human figures in her compositions.
