Espen Dietrichson: Seven Years
Out of stock
Description
The starting point for Dietrichson's works is the spatial, angular, and geometric forms of architecture, detached from human scale. Shapes and structural elements that are liberated or levitating populate his paintings, silkscreens, sculptures and public works. The works are in transition between the constrained and the limitless, between dream and function, between repetition and difference. The book's editor is the art historian Demetrio Paparoni, who contributes an in-depth essay on Dietrichson's works. An interview with the artist by Katya Tylevich provides insight into specific, personal aspects of his practice, while Tone Lyngstad Nyaas — curator of the Haugar Art Museum — discusses the art historical resonance of geometry, abstraction, metaphysics and utopia in Dietrichson's work.
