Amy Lea is a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Gamilaroi Mob and is a Sutherland Shire local. Amy is recognised throughout the Sutherland Shire for her work. She is a former board member of the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation and has gained knowledge by listening to her Elders. She lives on Dharawal Country in the Illawarra and has been an active member of her community since she was a child. “Yura mari ngara yanga marri, barrbanga gurlibuwa” – ‘People become great as they hear and do good things as we learn the proper way of maintaining our heritage’
