Description
Shivaun is the owner and curator of Lonely Coat, and in her limited spare time she makes artworks that can be described as fractious and tongue-in-cheek, but also very deliberate and careful in their composition and use of colour. Shivaun uses a range of materials in her works, which often incorporate collage, text, and images stolen from great white ‘masters’. Her work is concerned with the artifice and insincerity that underpins so many of the norms that define dominant white Australian culture. and she is thoroughly influenced by the punk/alternative cultures of the 1980s & 90s, by surrealist collage & feminist performance art, and by her amazing 8 year-old daughter.
This piece is made with acrylic, pen & collage on paper. It is professionally presented in an oak timber box frame, and can be carefully packed and shipped to the buyer.
